Virginie Boury-Prin
I am an experienced and professionally qualified integrative psychotherapist and dramatherapist with 15 years of practice in the field. I work at The Practice in Central London close to Oxford Circus where I offer sessions in English or French, both to individuals and groups.
I am trained and qualified as a psychodrama psychotherapist and dramatherapist. When appropriate, I use embodied and expressive methods to explore the issues you bring to sessions.
My work is underpinned by attachment theory and existential philosophy and my therapeutic approach is psychodynamic. This involves exploring the dynamics at play in relation to yourself, others and the wider world. For example we might ask the question what is happening or not happening that pulls you back or slows you down and you may then find new creative response bringing change in your life.
You may want to seek therapy for a variety of reasons: you may experience emotional distress, feel stuck or in the grip of your anxiety, depressed or struggling with addictive behaviours, you may want to be more of an initiator in your life. I have experience of working with a range of mental health concerns.
So whatever you are facing an on-going or sudden mental and emotional distress or/and existential anxiety I am committed to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space in which you can voice your issues and concerns and feel better equipped to sail the waves the sea of life presents.
I am the author of “Working psychodramatically with anxiety” in Chesner. A. (2019). One-to-One Psychodrama Psychotherapy. London: Routledge.
