What is life coaching?
A life coach is someone who is professionally trained to help you maximize your full potential and reach your desired results. They are like a supportive friend and a trusted adviser rolled into one.
As a life coach myself, I support individuals to bridge the gap between where they are now and where they want to be in any part of their life. Indeed, I offer a safe and reflective space to explore challenges; identify goals; support individuals by asking powerful questions; help them overcoming limiting beliefs and/or obstacles and ultimately support them reach their goals by holding individuals accountable and providing encouragement throughout their journey.
I love that by the end of coaching session, I have supported someone to move forward, find clarity (and often peace), know their next best steps and ultimately leave people in a more resourceful place to take on their challenges.
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is paying attention to the here and now – to your own thoughts and feelings, and the world around you. It is a conscious effort by you to be with whatever is going on right now without judgement or criticism of what you find. This awareness is known as “mindfulness” and practicing mindfulness boost numerous benefits from supporting your mental wellbeing to enhanced focus and creativity.
Evidence has shown that practising mindfulness creates changes in many parts of the brain – simply put, those regions of brain responsible for stress become less activated and other areas link to creativity, problem solving and controlling one’s emotions show increased activity. The globally recognised 8 weeks course known as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), is now recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the UK for the NHS as a way to help people cope better with stress, depression and anxiety.
I have been practised mindfulness for over twenty years and my goal is to bring mindfulness to a greater audience to support individuals and organisations to thrive.
