Lynne Tupper
I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist who has been working privately since qualifying. I trained in psychodrama psychotherapy and worked as a group therapist in various settings including an NHS group for two years alongside working with individuals. I began my career as a Drama teacher and continue to teach part-time as I enjoy nurturing my students’ creativity and learning from them.
In my one-to-one psychotherapy practice, I provide creative, integrative therapy drawing on various theories and techniques including talking therapy, action techniques and reflective writing. I can help you investigate worries, thoughts, and feelings that impair your life and find the energy to be more spontaneous; to say yes to experiences that will enhance your well-being and no to things that no longer serve you. Imagine a mirror that allows you to remember painful experiences rather than shutting them down, rediscover your strengths and acknowledge what it is you want to change.
I have worked with clients with addiction, anxiety, depression, parenting difficulties and many other challenges, those wishing to come to terms with past traumas or explore their next stage in life.
I have additional interest in eating disorders. Whether you are caring for someone with an eating disorder or going through your own difficulties with food, I can help you develop new skills to combat fears and break harmful habits. I understand this illness and its impact as I helped a family member in their recovery from anorexia and worked in an eating disorder day unit during training.
I am committed to supporting women’s mental health. I have experience with post-natal depression and can offer a safe space to explore all the parts of self that fight one another at this overwhelming time, helping build confidence and enjoyment in the role of parent.
I am currently exploring Internal Family Systems which is closely related to psychodrama and provides an excellent framework for understanding and alleviating trauma.
I abide by the code of ethics and professional practice of the UKCP and welcome new clients.
